Vampire Survivors Chaos in the Dark Night Guide: Unlock and Speed Cycle

The short answer: reach level 50 with Giovanna

Chaos in the Dark Night (V) is unlocked by reaching level 50 with Giovanna. It cycles projectile Speed from -50% to +50% over ten seconds and adds 1% projectile Speed for every level gained.

Projectile behavior changes throughout the cycle, so travel distance and time on screen may look different from moment to moment. The card does not hold projectile Speed at +50% continuously.

Unlock steps

1. Unlock Giovanna.
2. Start any stage with Giovanna.
3. Reach level 50 during the run.
4. After the run, confirm that Chaos in the Dark Night (V) is unlocked.

If needed, begin with the Giovanna unlock guide.

Reading the effect

• The ten-second cycle and the permanent 1% per level are separate effects.
• The cycle includes both slower and faster projectile periods.
• Gaining levels gradually stacks the level-based Speed increase.
• Different weapons respond differently, so watch the actual projectile paths.

It works best when the build can tolerate changing projectile behavior instead of relying on one fixed travel speed.
