Ariana unlocks when you evolve Lance Bean's Short Gun into Prototype B. The recipe needs Bracer as well as Weapon Power-Up. After purchasing Ariana, evolve Spread Shot into Prototype C to unlock Lucia Zero.
Unlock steps
- Select Lance Bean.
- Raise Short Gun to level 8.
- Obtain Weapon Power-Up and Bracer.
- Open an evolution-capable chest and evolve Short Gun into Prototype B.
- Finish the run and purchase Ariana on character selection.
Short Gun will not evolve with Weapon Power-Up alone. Reserve a passive-item slot for Bracer before filling your build.
Spell alternative
After obtaining the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane and unlocking spell entry, enter `protectorofgaluga` in the Secrets menu. You still need the Operation Guns DLC.

Spread Shot evolves into Prototype C when it is at level 8 and you hold both Weapon Power-Up and Empty Tome. Completing this evolution unlocks Lucia Zero.
How to use Ariana
Ariana starts with +20% Move Speed, +20% Projectile Speed, and +10% Growth. She gains 1 Armor for every 10% Move Speed, up to +10 Armor. Improving movement therefore increases both mobility and durability. Move Speed from stage modifiers and Hyper Mode does not count toward this conversion.
Spread Shot covers the direction Ariana faces. While prioritizing its evolution, add coverage for enemies approaching from behind or from the sides so you can safely gather Weapon Power-Up and Empty Tome.
If it does not unlock
- Confirm that Short Gun reached level 8.
- Hold both Weapon Power-Up and Bracer.
- For Lucia Zero, obtain Empty Tome before filling passive slots.
- Open an evolution-capable chest after meeting the requirements.
- Finish the run and reopen character selection after the evolution.
