Christine Davain becomes available to buy after you raise Pentagram to level 7 in a run. Merely adding Pentagram to the weapon slots does not complete the requirement.
Unlock steps
- If Pentagram is not in the weapon pool yet, first survive for 20 minutes with any character to unlock the weapon.
- Take Pentagram in a later run.
- Prioritize its upgrades until it reaches level 7.
- After the run, buy Christine from Character Selection.
Take a reliable attack with the bonus starting level
Christine gains one extra level at the beginning of a run. Use that early choice for a dependable damaging weapon so Pentagram is not your only attack.
Pentagram clears enemies on activation, but at low levels it can also erase experience gems, chests, and other pickups. Collect an important chest before its next activation and level the weapon to reduce that drawback. Pair a maximum-level Pentagram with Crown to evolve it into Gorgeous Moon.
Common mistakes
- The unlock requires Pentagram level 7, not just obtaining the weapon.
- Low-level Pentagram can erase pickups and slow early experience gain.
- Pickup preservation changes with weapon level and Luck, so do not rely on one fixed percentage.
- Unlocking Christine still leaves a coin purchase in Character Selection.
