Simon Belmont unlock guide: evolve Jet Black Whip

Quick answer: evolve Jet Black Whip

Simon Belmont is unlocked by evolving Jet Black Whip into Mormegil Tip. Max the weapon, hold Stone Mask, and then open an evolution-capable chest.

Who this guide is for

• You want the exact Simon Belmont unlock condition.
• You have Jet Black Whip but do not know its passive item.
• The evolution does not appear from a chest.

Unlock steps

1. Enable the Ode to Castlevania DLC.
2. Obtain Jet Black Whip.
3. Raise Jet Black Whip to its maximum level.
4. Obtain Stone Mask.
5. Open an evolution-capable chest after meeting both requirements.
6. Complete the evolution into Mormegil Tip and check that Simon Belmont is unlocked.

The checked reference does not provide a numeric maximum level for Jet Black Whip. Verify that the weapon itself is marked as maxed instead of relying on an unconfirmed number.

If the evolution does not appear

• Confirm that the weapon is Jet Black Whip.
• Make sure the weapon is fully leveled.
• Check that Stone Mask is in your inventory.
• Open a chest after the requirements are ready.
• Verify that you did not use a different whip with a similar name.

The DLC contains eight whips with different passive-item pairs. Use the whip evolution chart when the recipe is unclear.
