Vampire Survivors August 2026 update record
This page records the Steam announcements checked on September 26, 2026. It does not guarantee that every platform is currently on the same version. Before troubleshooting, note the version shown at the lower-right of the main menu.
Announcement date | Update | Confirmed announcement details |
|---|---|---|
August 28, 2026 | 1.16.100 | The level-up menu remains usable after a Banish action; Quickstart was adjusted to choose characters or stages related to locked content |
August 28, 2026 | Legacy of the Bloodmoon | The additional content was announced as released |
August 30, 2026 | 1.16.107 | Fixes included square-looking effects, movement outside the screen in a boss fight, and language mismatches in some names |
If an older guide describes a different menu action, compare its platform and version before assuming that your input is wrong.
Content additions in the August announcement
The August 28 announcement included Legacy of the Bloodmoon and additions to Legacy of the Moonspell involving weapons and characters.
Base-game updates and DLC ownership are separate. You do not need to buy every expansion when returning to the game. Use the DLC selection guide to choose one by theme.
Steam achievement plan announced for 1.17
The August 28 announcement said new Steam achievements were planned for patch 1.17 and that conditions already completed in the game would be recognized after the achievements were added.
This was a plan stated in that announcement, not proof that every achievement later shipped unchanged. Check the newer official announcement history for subsequent status before using it as a current release claim.
Returning-player checklist
- Record the version number shown on the main menu.
- Confirm the base game and the DLC you intend to use are updated and installed.
- Choose one objective: base-game progression or one DLC route.
- If a problem persists, record the platform, version, stage, character, and the exact step where it occurs.
For base-game goals, the achievements and unlocks guide provides a stable objective list.
