Laurel Effect and Evolution in Vampire Survivors
Short answer: Laurel is available from the start
Item | Details |
|---|---|
Unlock | Available by default |
Effect | Uses shield charges to prevent incoming damage |
Evolution | Max Laurel, Metaglio Left, and Metaglio Right to evolve Crimson Shroud |
Laurel requires no extra unlock. It can appear in normal level-up choices and adds defense rather than direct damage.
How Laurel works
When a shield charge is active, taking damage consumes one charge instead of health and grants brief invulnerability. Levels reduce the recharge time and add more charges.
Laurel does not normally attack. Keep enough offensive weapons to defeat enemies and choose Laurel when a run needs an extra defensive layer.
How to evolve Crimson Shroud
- Obtain the Yellow Sign so Metaglio Left and Metaglio Right can appear on stages.
- Max Laurel.
- Max both Metaglio Left and Metaglio Right.
- Open an eligible chest to receive Crimson Shroud.
One Metaglio alone is not enough.
If Laurel does not appear
- Check whether Laurel has been Sealed.
- Confirm that a weapon slot is open.
- For the evolution, verify the Yellow Sign and both Metaglio items.
