Vampire Survivors Character Unlock Roadmap
A practical character unlock route
To expand your character roster efficiently, start with unlocks tied to weapons you already use, then move to cumulative goals and coffin exploration. You do not need to chase secret-character procedures at the start.
This roadmap covers major base-game solo unlocks. It excludes DLC, Adventures, and spell-based shortcuts.

The table is a checklist, not a mandatory order. Pick a condition that matches the weapons and stages currently available to you.
Finish weapon-level unlocks during normal runs
Arca, Porta, and Poe check the level of a specific weapon, not your character level. You do not need to evolve the weapon.
When Fire Wand, Lightning Ring, or Garlic appears in a level-up choice, choose one target and continue upgrading it until the required level. Trying to complete all three in one run can make an early build less reliable.
Separate cumulative goals from single-run goals
Clerici, Krochi, and Mortaccio progress across multiple runs. You can let these unlock naturally while clearing stages.
Dommario is different: the 5,000 coins must be earned in one run. Having 5,000 coins saved outside the run does not satisfy the condition. If coin income is still low, continue stage progression and return to this target later.
Use the Milky Way Map before coffin hunting
The Milky Way Map is found in Dairy Plant. Once collected, it makes stage exploration easier by showing important locations.
The map itself does not unlock a coffin character. You still need to enter the relevant stage, reach the coffin, defeat its guards when required, and open it. It is often easier to separate a progression run from a coffin-exploration run.
Move to secret characters when you have a specific goal
For example, Big Trouser is useful for gold-focused play, but his normal unlock is a separate project: fully upgrade all 16 standard stage items in Moongolow, then leave the stage while they are maxed.
Do not combine that task with early weapon-level unlocks. First choose one incomplete condition from the table, finish the run, and check both the Unlocks menu and character selection. Some characters still require a gold purchase after their condition is complete.
