Obsidian Knight Weapon Magic Tree Guide
Do not spread resources evenly across all five Weapon Magic branches
Official Obsidian Knight update notes confirm five Weapon Magic trees. Public guides use the English labels Fire, Ice, Lightning, Blood, and Nature, but do not spend from those labels alone. Compare the next visible effect with the specific problem stopping your current run.
The existence of five trees is confirmed across the official iOS and Android update information. Use the current game screen for exact tree names, localized labels, node effects, resource costs, and unlock requirements.
Choose one main weapon and one failure first
- Identify the weapon used for most of the current run.
- Record whether normal enemies, a group, or a boss stops progress.
- Read the next visible node in each of the five branches.
- Choose one description that directly addresses the failure.
- Retry the same activity and compare the result.
When the main weapon, Skill Cards, and Weapon Magic all pursue different goals, the result becomes difficult to evaluate. Start with one win condition.
Record all five trees in screen order
Screen order | Displayed name | Next node | Target | Trigger | Cost | State |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Wait | |||||
2 | Wait | |||||
3 | Wait | |||||
4 | Wait | |||||
5 | Wait |
Copy the names and descriptions from the game. If a public label differs, use the current in-game wording.
Compare the five branches by their visible descriptions
Branch | Confirmed by official sources | Check on the current screen |
|---|---|---|
Fire | Search label used by public guides | Exact display, next effect, target, and cost |
Ice | Search label used by public guides | Exact display, next effect, target, and cost |
Lightning | Search label used by public guides | Exact display, next effect, target, and cost |
Blood | Search label used by public guides | Exact display, next effect, target, and cost |
Nature | Search label used by public guides | Exact display, next effect, target, and cost |
This guide does not infer that Fire applies damage over time or that Ice slows enemies. Use only the target, trigger, and value written in the current node description.
Compare by the way the run ends
Failure pattern | Description to look for in the next node | Result to compare |
|---|---|---|
Normal enemies take too long | A repeatable damage improvement | Time to reach the same enemy |
Groups overwhelm the run | An effect that helps process several enemies | Hits taken and clear time |
The boss survives until the timer ends | An effect that works reliably against a strong target | HP at boss entry and run end |
The run ends before attacks matter | An effect that improves survival or action opportunities | Potions and progress point |
You cannot tell whether an effect activates | An effect with a visible trigger | Activation display or combat log change |
The table does not assign one problem to a fixed element. Node contents may change with progression or updates, so use the visible description.
Six questions before investing
- Can you explain one current failure?
- Does the next node directly address that failure?
- Can you confirm the eligible target and trigger on screen?
- Did you record the cost and remaining balance?
- Can you keep equipment and Skill Cards fixed?
- Can you stop additional spending if the result does not improve?
When any answer is unclear, preserve the node description and wait.
Record the result before spending again
Record four items:
- equipped weapon and selected Weapon Magic branch,
- the description of the upgraded node,
- island, level, or mode used for the test,
- progress point, remaining HP, Potions, and elapsed time.
Test | End point | Time | HP | Potions | Trigger seen | End reason |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Before | ||||||
After 1 | ||||||
After 2 | ||||||
After 3 |
Do not change equipment, Skill Cards, and Weapon Magic together. Change one factor per test. If the run does not improve, reread the trigger and eligible target before investing again.
Common mistakes
Assigning effects from the element name
An elemental name may suggest a familiar RPG effect, but that assumption may not match the current node. Read the in-game description first.
Investing evenly in all five branches
Spreading resources before reaching a useful effect makes the result harder to observe. Test one main branch first, then compare another when the build needs a different role.
Treating an old ranking as permanent
Public weapon recommendations changed after game updates. Use the current screen and a comparable run instead of an old fixed number or universal ranking.
Details that require the current screen
- complete localized branch and node names,
- individual effects, multipliers, costs, and unlock levels,
- a fixed best pairing for each weapon type,
- one ranking that applies to every mode.
Prefer the names, effects, and costs shown in the current tree over an older version or public guide.
If the upgrade shows no clear change
- Confirm the upgraded tree and node.
- Reread the eligible weapon, effect, and trigger.
- Restore the same equipment and Skill Cards used before upgrading.
- Retry the same place three times.
- If trigger, progression, survival, and time do not change, postpone further investment.
