Obsidian Knight Artifact Guide and Priority
Artifacts are persistent upgrades for repeated runs
Artifacts in Obsidian Knight are persistent functions unlocked with resources such as Rubies. Unlike a one-time equipment chest, an Artifact can keep helping in later runs, so compare options against your current failure or control burden.
Public sources confirm that some Artifacts improve automation, rewards, or survival. The exact localized names, order, complete count, prices, unlock levels, and trigger conditions have not been verified from a current game screen. Treat the description on your current Artifact screen as the primary source before spending.
Where to buy Artifacts
The current community wiki and September 2026 player reports place the Artifact shop at a traveling merchant cart on campaign maps rather than inside the ordinary equipment shop. Look for the coin sign above the cart.
- Open a campaign map.
- Find the coin-marked merchant cart.
- Open the Artifact tab.
- Check the current name, effect, price, and unlock state.
If the merchant is missing, check another map, the app version, and current progression. The cart's exact fixed position has not been verified.
Six publicly documented Artifact types
Type | Main purpose | Detailed guide |
|---|---|---|
Gear Preset | Switch a saved equipment set | |
Get All Camp Rewards | Receive the available Camp reward set | |
Start with an Angel of Death | Add revival support at run start | |
Begin with a Random Skill | Add a card at run start | |
Auto-Continue | Reduce Continue inputs | |
Auto Drink Potions | Use available Potions automatically |
These English labels are preserved for search and source matching. Use the localized name shown in your current game.
Build an Artifact ledger
Screen order | Displayed name | Effect summary | Price | Problem to solve | State |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Not purchased | ||||
2 | Not purchased | ||||
3 | Not purchased |
Copy the name, price, and effect from the current game screen. Separate owned, unpurchased, and locked entries to avoid comparing the same function twice.
Decide on the problem before opening the Artifact screen
Current problem | Effect to look for on the Artifact screen | What to compare after unlocking |
|---|---|---|
Farming requires too many inputs | A description that reduces manual actions | Stops and required taps |
You want more value from long runs | A description related to rewards or choices | Gold, XP, HP, and other results |
One failed fight ends the run | A description related to survival or continuation | Progress point, remaining Potions, restart condition |
Rubies are scarce | Current price and competing permanent unlocks | Potion slots, equipment slots, and the next bottleneck |
Do not choose by the name alone. Confirm that the description directly addresses your problem. Automation in particular may not cover every screen, so check the eligible action and whether an enable setting is required.
Compare three candidates with the same criteria
Criterion | Candidate A | Candidate B | Candidate C |
|---|---|---|---|
Connects to the current failure | |||
Reduces control burden | |||
Can be measured in a long run | |||
Another permanent unlock can replace it | |||
Rubies remaining after purchase |
Keep the candidate that directly solves the current problem, not automatically the most expensive or most discussed option.
Five checks before unlocking
- Read the exact effect and price on the Artifact screen.
- Identify one current failure or control burden.
- Compare the Artifact with Potion slots, equipment slots, and other permanent unlocks.
- Check whether you already unlocked a function with a similar purpose.
- Retry the same activity after unlocking and compare the result.
Artifacts are not the only use for Rubies. When an equipment slot or healing limit is blocking progress, another permanent unlock may improve the run more than an Artifact.
Check the opportunity cost of Rubies
Use | Problem addressed | Needed now | How to compare after purchase |
|---|---|---|---|
Artifact | Controls, rewards, or survival | Test the same run | |
Potion slot | Healing limit | Time until Potions run out | |
Equipment slot | Build restriction | Compare progression before and after | |
Other permanent unlock | Based on the current screen | Change one factor and compare |
Preserve the balance when none of the options connect to the current failure. There is no verified universal reserve amount or purchase order.
How to verify an unclear effect
Change only one condition, then retry the same activity after unlocking the Artifact.
- For automation, record the screens where the run still stops.
- For rewards, compare Gold, XP, HP, and other values before and after the choice.
- For survival, record the trigger and the condition for using it again.
- If nothing changes, check the enable setting and eligible mode.
Changing equipment, cards, and several unlocks at the same time makes the result hard to attribute. Use one change per comparison.
Compare three runs after unlocking
Run | End point | Control stops | Rewards | Survival | Artifact trigger confirmed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | |||||
2 | |||||
3 |
For automation, record where the run still stops. For rewards, compare results under the same conditions. For survival, record the trigger and end reason. Do not turn one improved run into a fixed claim.
Details that require the current screen
Public communities discuss individual names and behavior, but descriptions and prices may vary by version. Confirm these details on the current Artifact screen:
- exact names and display order,
- the complete Artifact count, prices, or unlock levels,
- which screens are covered by automation,
- fixed reward or revival counts,
- a universal best-Artifact ranking.
If the effect is not visible
- Confirm that the Artifact is shown as owned.
- Read any enable setting or eligible-mode description.
- Reach the control, reward, or survival event the effect targets.
- Compare three runs under the same conditions used before purchase.
- If the screen description and result differ, record the version, device, and event.
Avoid these mistakes
- Choosing only by name or price
- Changing several Artifacts or equipment items together
- Assuming automation covers every screen
- Reusing an old version's price, unlock level, or fixed count
- Spending all Rubies before identifying the current failure
