When reviewing an Obsidian Knight update, record the store you use, the installed app version, and the screen you can actually see. Apple App Store and Google Play update notes can have different dates and details. Do not apply an iOS version number to Android automatically; use the information shown by your own store first.

Official notes can confirm that a feature exists without defining its unlock timing or exact screen location. If a feature is missing, check the version and the on-screen unlock message before inferring a requirement.
Changes returning players may miss
Pre-battle settings
Official update information describes the ability to remove unwanted Skill Cards from battle offers and access the setting from the pre-battle screen. Check how to disable Skill Cards before reusing an old build.
Daily activities and resources
Google Play update information describes a guaranteed set item for each set in the Daily Shop and two Hunt refreshes after a full clear with Darksteel rewards. The official text does not establish a fixed reset time or reward amount, so use the current in-game display.
Achievements and combat values
Google Play update information describes game-achievement synchronization with Google Play and increases to Armor, Max HP, and Potions. Old fixed durability values, required run counts, and optimal builds may no longer match the current version.
Returning-player check order
- Record your store and installed app version.
- Check your current Story, Island Explorer, and Challenge progress.
- Look for Weapon Magic, the Legendary Skill Tree, and set upgrades.
- Review disabled Skill Cards and the current equipment and Potion displays.
- Check current rewards in the Daily Shop, Hunt, and Endless Dungeon.
- Check PvP and Clan entrances and achievement synchronization.
- If a feature is absent, record the unlock text instead of guessing.

Signs that a guide may be outdated
Verify a guide against the current screen when it assumes any of the following:
- Island Explorer, Weapon Magic, or Shards do not exist
- Skill Cards cannot be removed from the offer pool
- Darksteel has only one acquisition route
- Additional PvP leagues, Clans, or Act III Challenges do not exist
- Old fixed Armor, Max HP, or Potion values still apply
- An iOS version number is asserted as the Android version
