Obsidian Knight Returning Player Update Checklist
Check current features before buying or upgrading anything
Recent official update histories describe new Challenges, Hunt rewards, daily-shop equipment, skill-card settings, Clan management, achievement synchronization, and stat changes. Do not resume an old route blindly; first review the systems now visible on your account.
Before buying equipment or spending permanent resources, record the current version and your account state. Testing one change at a time makes it easier to separate current behavior from an outdated guide.
Record these seven items first
Item | What to record |
|---|---|
App | Store version and update date |
Progress | Current Act, island, and progression point |
Equipment | Equipped weapon, armor, and set |
Skill Cards | Current pool and disabled-card settings |
Resources | Visible balances such as Rubies, Obsidian Orbs, and Darksteel |
Modes | Current Challenge, The Hunt, Clan, and Dungeon screens |
Achievements | In-game and Google Play Games status |
This becomes the baseline for judging whether later changes actually help.
Returning-player checklist
- Update the app from the current store page.
- Check Challenge and The Hunt for new targets.
- Review equipment sets in the daily shop.
- Open the pre-battle screen and check unwanted-card settings.
- If you belong to a Clan, review the leader and member list.
- On Android, confirm Google Play Games achievement synchronization.
- Recheck the current Armor, maximum health, and Potion values.
Split the return into three stages
Before the first run
- Check the current store version and update date.
- Capture the equipment, Skill Cards, and resource balances now shown.
- Look for new entries in Challenge, The Hunt, Dungeon, and Clan.
- Postpone large purchases and permanent upgrades.
First run back
- Play once with the equipment and Skill Cards you used before leaving.
- Record the first stopping point and failure reason.
- Separate Potion failure, low damage, boss failure, and unstable card selection.
- Use current screens rather than values copied from an old guide.
After the run
- Choose one system related to the observed failure.
- Decide whether the next change belongs to Skill Cards, equipment, or permanent progression.
- Change one item and retry the same place three times.
- Compare progression, survival, and enemy-wave clearing.
Important changes and where to look
Change | Screen to check |
|---|---|
Act III Challenges | Challenge list |
Hunt refreshes and Darksteel | The Hunt and reward screens |
Guaranteed set piece | Daily shop |
Disable Cards access | Pre-battle screen |
Inactive Clan leader replacement | Clan members and roles |
Achievement synchronization | In-game achievements and Google Play Games |
Armor, maximum health, and Potion adjustments | Equipment, stats, and Potion displays |
Choose the next check by symptom
Symptom after returning | Check first | Next guide |
|---|---|---|
Level-up choices are too scattered | Disabled Skill Card settings | |
Equipment upgrades do not solve the stop | Run, equipment, and permanent-progression layers | |
Darksteel has no clear use | The Hunt and set upgrades | |
Clan roles changed | Leader activity and member roles | |
Only achievements are missing | Game, Google Play, account, and connection layers | |
Progress or purchases disappeared | Preserve evidence from both devices |
Older screenshots and tier lists may contain values from before the official Armor, maximum-health, and Potion increases. Use the current in-game values instead of treating an older number as today's optimum.
Check the publication date and current screen before following a guide that:
- assumes manual movement or dodge controls
- does not state a version, update date, or checked screen
- declares one fixed best item or required Power value
- omits modes or upgrade systems currently visible in the game
- provides numbers without identifying the game version
Postpone these actions
- Buying equipment only because an old tier list ranks it highly
- Spending all permanent resources at once
- Disabling several Skill Cards before comparing their roles
- Repurchasing an item while account progress is still missing
Use the first run as a baseline, then change only one factor tied to the current failure.
