Obsidian Knight Game Modes Overview
Choose a mode from the result you need
Obsidian Knight combines normal story and island progression with Challenge, PvP, Dungeon, The Hunt, Treasure Run, Clan activities, and other systems. Do not give every activity the same priority. Start with the result your account currently needs.
This overview is for beginners who do not know where to go next, players organizing repeatable activities, and anyone looking for another upgrade route after a story wall.
How each mode or activity fits
Mode or activity | Main purpose | Use it when | Detailed guide |
|---|---|---|---|
Story and Island Explorer | Advance the story, islands, and levels | An uncleared normal stage remains | |
Challenge and Nightmare | Attempt special conditions or higher difficulty | You want to test a harder rule set | |
PvP | Compete with other players and progress through leagues | You want to check PvP milestones and rewards | |
Dungeon and Ruins of Mourn | Increase the recorded depth through repeatable floors | You want progression outside the story | |
The Hunt | Find targets and advance the Hunt list | The Hunt screen shows unfinished targets | |
Treasure Run | Compare Gold collection and selectable difficulty | Gold is the current bottleneck | |
Ship and Unified Armada | Collect Pickaxes and complete a long run | You need Pickaxes or the ship ends through survival or time | |
Clan and Clan Boss | Shared progression and Clan activity | Clan features are available |
Official version history confirms Act III Challenges, additional PvP leagues, Dungeons, The Hunt, Fortifications, Endless Dungeon, Clans, and a new Treasure Run difficulty. Follow the current game screen for unlock requirements, attempt limits, and rewards.
Use normal progression as the beginner baseline
- Attempt one uncleared Story or island stage.
- Classify the first failure as crowd clearing, survival, a strong enemy, or an unmet condition.
- If permanent progression is needed, choose an available activity such as PvP, Dungeon, or Treasure Run that matches the missing resource.
- Return to the original stage and check whether the same failure changed.
Do not play a side mode without a purpose. Decide what the original progression wall needs first.
Choose by objective
Advance the story
Prioritize Story and Island Explorer. Official information describes 65 islands and 290 levels. Do not rush based on the total count; record the first failure in the current Act.
Collect Gold
Use Treasure Run as the first comparison and record both completion rate and Gold under the same selectable difficulty. Community discussions also use PvP as a Gold source, but results vary with progress and equipment, so this guide does not assign a fixed efficiency ranking.
Clear a high-difficulty wall
In Challenge or Nightmare, read the visible rule first, then compare one Critical, Potion, Dodge, or Stun chain at a time. Keep normal progression and high-difficulty records separate.
Collect Darksteel and improve sets
Official history describes Hunt refreshes after a full clear with Darksteel rewards and Darksteel from Endless Dungeon. Check the current Hunt state and Dungeon entrance instead of assuming that an unavailable activity is already unlocked.
Collect Pickaxes
Ship is also called `Unified Armada` and is used to collect Pickaxes. Do not plan around one claimed maximum. Record Pickaxes before and after entry, completion, and duration across three attempts. If the run does not complete, use the Ship and Unified Armada guide to separate the trigger, survival loop, and enemy-line damage.
Compete with other players
In PvP, record the current league, points, and next visible reward. Official history confirms additional leagues, but the current screen should decide details such as the season starting point.
Play shared content
Official history confirms Clans, Clan Levels, Clan Bosses, and Clan Chat. Use the Clan screen to check entry conditions, shared progress, and claimable rewards, and record them separately from personal progression.
A practical daily check order
- Read any visible expiry or refresh notice.
- Check for unclaimed rewards.
- Choose one missing resource or progression goal.
- Play the corresponding activity.
- Return to the original Story or Challenge target.
Daily and weekly limits or reset times may vary by version and region, so this guide does not publish one fixed schedule.
Record these fields from each mode screen
- mode name, Act, and difficulty;
- unlock requirement or locked message;
- visible attempts, expiry, or refresh time;
- rewards shown before entry;
- rewards on the result screen;
- the first point of failure.
These six fields help prevent mixing old information with another difficulty or version.
Check these details in your current version
- current unlock levels and prerequisite quests for every mode;
- fixed daily or weekly limits and reset times;
- fixed rewards by difficulty or a universal efficiency ranking;
- every Clan, PvP, or Dungeon rule;
- fixed Hunt target locations or encounter rates.
