Obsidian Knight Dungeon Guide
Choose a Dungeon by its objective
Official iOS update histories introduce Dungeons, The Hunt, Fortifications, and Endless Dungeon. Darksteel is also listed among Endless Dungeon rewards. Check the objective and visible reward before choosing a mode.
Dungeon is not one fixed route. Read the objective, difficulty, remaining attempts, and rewards shown at the entrance, then choose the activity that matches the progression or resource you need.
Choose an entrance by objective
Objective | Check first | Decision |
|---|---|---|
Progress Ruins of Mourn | Difficulty and current floor | Whether to continue Normal, Fever Dream, or Nightmare |
Check Darksteel access | Endless Dungeon reward display | Whether Darksteel appears on the current screen |
Progress Hunt targets | The Hunt list | Current stage and next target |
Review permanent upgrades | Fortifications | Whether a branch relates to the current failure |
Treat The Hunt and Fortifications as related systems introduced alongside Dungeons, not as interchangeable Dungeon entrances.
Before entering
- Identify the available Dungeon name.
- Read its entry conditions and remaining attempts.
- Check the displayed rewards.
- Separate a Dungeon setup from the normal story setup when the goals differ.
- After the run, record both the reward and the reason the attempt ended.
Record six items before entering
- Selected Dungeon name and difficulty
- Current floor or progression point
- Visible conditions and remaining attempts
- Displayed rewards
- Equipment and main Skill Cards
- Starting balance of Darksteel or another resource being compared
A screenshot helps identify a wrong difficulty, a misread reward, or the exact balance change after the run.
When to use Endless Dungeon
If you are improving an equipment set, check whether Darksteel is shown as a reward. Record gains under the same difficulty and conditions before comparing efficiency. Do not rely on a fixed reward amount from an older version.
Three-run comparison
Run | End point | End reason | Darksteel or other gain | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Baseline build | |||
2 | One change only | |||
3 | Repeat the same change |
Do not turn one unusually good run into a fixed efficiency claim. Check whether the result repeats under the same conditions.
Ruins of Mourn structure
Ruins of Mourn has separate Normal, Fever Dream, and Nightmare paths for floors 1 through 15. All three paths join one shared Endless route at floor 16. If the displayed floor changes after switching difficulty, check the selected entrance first. See the Ruins of Mourn guide for depth progression and Pickaxe tracking.
Avoid mixing floor routes
- Read the selected difficulty name.
- Treat floors 1 through 15 as that difficulty's separate route.
- At floor 16 and beyond, confirm that the shared Endless route is displayed.
- Capture the entrance and floor again after switching difficulty.
- Use current screens for Pickaxe and reward values instead of an older guide.
If progress stops
When normal enemies remain on screen, focus the main attack. When a long fight ends in defeat, review survival. If a Dungeon shows a specific rule or modifier, adapt the build to that description instead of assuming normal-stage priorities apply unchanged.
Symptom | Check first | One change to test |
|---|---|---|
Normal enemies remain | Whether damage is split across unrelated effects | Pair one source with its follow-up effect |
Long fights end in defeat | Whether Potion, HP, or Armor failed first | Add one survival component |
The boss stops progress | Survival and damage at boss entry | Preserve wave clearing while testing single-target damage |
Card choices are unstable | Whether unwanted cards remain enabled | Review disabled cards one at a time |
Reward differs from expectation | Difficulty, entrance, and reward display | Compare the entry and result screenshots |
Build decisions should account for the game's automatic combat. Do not copy competitor instructions that assume manual movement, dodge timing, or target selection.
Record the result
- Record the final floor and end reason.
- Capture the reward screen.
- Compare the resource balance.
- Choose only one next change.
- Retry the same entrance and difficulty.
If the entrance or difficulty changes, keep it in a separate comparison row.
