Obsidian Knight Fortification Guide
Choose Fortifications for the weakness you have now
Fortifications were introduced in the same major feature group as Dungeons and The Hunt. When several upgrades are available, connect the visible effect to the reason your current run fails instead of choosing only by the largest number.
A stronger Fortification does not solve a failure caused by Skill Cards or equipment. Decide what should improve and which screen or run result will measure it before changing anything.
Inventory the current Fortifications
Slot | Current effect | Displayed value | Problem to solve | Candidate change | Reason to wait |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

2 | |||||

Copy names and values from the current game screen. Do not replace them with labels or numbers from an older guide.
Before changing a Fortification
- Review the equipped slots and current effects.
- Choose one problem to solve in the next attempt.
- Compare the current effect with the replacement or upgraded result.
- Check the resource cost and preserve resources needed by other permanent systems.
- Change one slot and retry the same stage.
Make the decision in three stages
1. Fix one failure reason
Repeat the same location and select the first point that breaks. Early defeat, long-fight failure, uncleared waves, boss failure, and Hunt-target searching are different problems.
2. Check whether Fortification can solve it
If no visible effect connects to the failure, check Skill Cards, equipment, or Obsidian Orb progression before spending here.
3. Change one item
Capture the confirmation screen, resource cost, and resulting effect. Retry with the same stage and build.
Changing several Fortifications together makes it difficult to identify which effect mattered.
Check by failure type
Problem | Display to inspect first | How to compare |
|---|---|---|
You die early | Armor, maximum health, or Potion-related effects | Compare survival against the same enemy |
Enemies remain alive | Attack-related effects | Compare clear speed in the same section |
You are looking for Hunt targets | Hunt Rate-related effects | Do not judge the effect from only a few attempts |
Power rises but the run does not improve | Skill plan and failure reason | Separate Fortification from other causes |
The boss stops progress | Survival and damage at boss entry | Test single-target improvement without losing wave clearing |
Potions run out first | Potion-related display and fight duration | Compare overall survival, not one heal number |
Official Android update information describes increases to Armor, maximum health, and Potions. Use the current screen for exact values and for which Fortification effects are available.
Treat Hunt Rate as version-sensitive
Community reports disagree on how noticeable Hunt Rate feels, and no official formula or guaranteed-attempt count was confirmed. Compare similar numbers of attempts in the same mode, and record the description shown in your version instead of promising a result.
Hunt Rate comparison
Condition | Attempts | Target appearances | End point | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Before | ||||
After 1 | ||||
After 2 |
Use the same mode, similar progression, and similar attempt counts. A few attempts without an appearance do not prove that the effect does nothing.
Check the result before combining or replacing
Before confirming an operation, review:
- The type and number of Fortifications consumed
- Effects that remain afterward
- Effects gained and lost
- Whether the operation can be reversed
- Whether it uses resources needed by another upgrade system
Community descriptions of merge efficiency may reflect different versions, so this guide does not fix a required count or maximum tier.
Five questions before spending
- Does this effect directly relate to the current failure?
- Can you inspect the resulting display before confirming?
- Can you afford to lose the consumed Fortification or resource?
- Is another permanent system, such as Obsidian Orb upgrades, a better first test?
- Can you compare before and after at the same location?
If any answer is unclear, preserve the screen and postpone the operation.
Compare three runs after the change
Run | End point | Survival | Wave clearing | Boss | Difference from baseline |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | |||||
2 | |||||
3 |
Do not judge success only by Power or a larger displayed value. Identify whether progression, survival, or wave clearing actually improved.
Avoid these mistakes
- Replacing an effect because it has the largest number but does not match the failure
- Changing several slots and losing the comparison baseline
- Declaring Hunt Rate effective or ineffective from a few runs
- Combining items without checking the result and consumed resources
- Copying fixed counts, tiers, or formulas from an older version
