Ant Colony Surface Exploration: Scouting Direction and Resource Transport
Use scouting direction to choose where scouts search
When a resource or enemy base is not found, review the surface scouting direction. Public sources describe Scouting as a command that sends scouts in a selected direction to explore for resources and possible enemy bases. An App Store developer response also recommends the direction feature for distant Chitin.
A slow response does not prove that direction is the only problem. Separate a search command from ants waiting after they bring food home.
Choose the objective before setting a direction
- Switch to the surface and decide whether you need a resource or an enemy base.
- Open the current Scouting direction control and select the side to search.
- Compare the selected direction with the direction scouts actually move.
- After discovery, separate the scouting problem from gathering, transport, or combat.
Once a resource is visible, the search phase succeeded. If it does not reach the nest, repeating the same direction command is less useful than checking transport and storage.
Use the controls shown by the current version. An older guide's number or position of direction buttons is not treated as a permanent UI rule.
If ants wait at the nest entrance, check food storage
The developer response says ants carrying food may wait at the entrance until storage has space. This can resemble a scouting failure even though the direction command is not the immediate bottleneck.
Check whether food storage is full and whether the waiting ants carry food. The same response says ants may eventually clear unnecessary resources and leave for new ones, but that is not a guarantee that they will choose one specific distant Chitin source.
If distant Chitin is the goal, point scouting toward that side and then watch transport separately. See resource types and uses for the role of each resource.
Separate not found from found but not delivered
Current state | Check first |
|---|---|
Target is still hidden | Scouting direction and scout movement |
Resource is visible but not delivered | Transport activity and entrance waiting |
Ants hold food at the entrance | Available Food Stock space |
Scouts repeatedly ignore the side | Location, target, Workshop level, and card rarity |
Do not decide that scouts must be upgraded before identifying which stage of the process stopped.
Record the condition when it does not improve
Record the location, target resource or enemy, scout Workshop level, card rarity, device, and game version. A short video showing the selected direction and actual movement is more useful than repeatedly tapping the same control.
For the next attempt, decide whether the goal is discovering an unknown area or transporting a known resource. Those two problems use different checks.
